What A Wonderful World We Live In! Happy Today, Everyone!
First - thank you all for the great Sunday. Rehearsal went off without a hitch - a lot of
input from everybody - and even better than that, a lot of great output from
everyone! Thank you - Thank you...
Melody: thank you for the melodious meditation you always
provide. You focus so well on harmony,
grace and ease. What a great send off for the day and follow-up to an amazing
and productive rehearsal.
Karen: your opening treatments bring such a hush over the
crowd. Not only do you capture everyone's attention, but you help them to
surrender to themselves to being receptive vehicles for a lesson for which they
hunger.
Rev PAM: Getting people to find a personal level of comfort
with the harsh realities of their stinkin' thinkin' is one of your special
gifts to our world. Yeah, it's all about us.
That’s so easy to say but not so easy to display. And that's why it's
called a “practice,” right?
To The AwSOM Band: Great,
great job all of you! (Todd, I still
don't think I gave you enough credit on what you did on Oye Como Va the previous week.
And dang if you didn't knock it outta the ballpark this past week with
Allen Mascari. Great job, man. Thanks so
much for keeping the pit so well organized, together, and functioning
throughout the last theater production with the space invasion. It's so important that our presence there is
symbiotic and complimenting. You make the
pit happen seamlessly.
Dan, you are such a great, quick study and play with an
awesome feel. Glad you rose for Rise. Thanks so much for being so fully present
week after week. You, too, are a great
talent.
Ted, that echo effect was a great add. Your approach is so methodic and thorough -
you're an artist's artist. Your attention to detail is so helpful and
appreciated. How lucky we are to have such talent in our midst. Good luck with
the movie soundtrack you're working on. I'm
sure they're glad they have you on it.
Allen, the way you sing with your sax and read my mind for
all the "what's" and "where's" for my production concepts
that you bring to life makes me want to be a better player and musician. We all
seem to step up our game when you're with us. You always come prepared and you
always bring your "A" game. Sorry
that you won't be back with us until August. Glad to hear that you’ll be
filling in for a guy on tour with the band, WAR, and touring with Tower Of
Power.)
This week, MIKE ECHOLS will be joining us In The Pit! Woo Hoo! It's always a great combo with the one-two
punch of having both Mike and Allen In The Pit.
I have some fun songs planned for this Sunday! Our first song is, WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD, a la Louis Armstrong and AS - a la Stevie Wonder.
Karen Tarleton Holland - I would love it if you could join
us for that AS. You and I would sing together in harmony with
Allen on the sax playing with us a bunch.
I thought that would be a cool incorporation - in an artsy kinda way.
Also, our Community Song will be changing to USE ME as of
next week. If there’s time to do it, then I’ll teach it this week.

Thanks again for all that you all do. I'm so grateful to be able to come into such a
great space week after week with such loving and talented folks. It takes a village and we are the village
people.
Peace and Love AS we
appreciate WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD we
create,
Brady
